Our Anniversary

DSC01122  Anniversary roses!

We are very grateful to celebrate our anniversary with a quiet day at home.  We had our nut cereal with dried fruit and oatmeal, did some reading and writing, cooked shrimp fried rice together, which we had for an afternoon dinner, and then enjoyed these lovely roses.  We had some cheese crackers with salsa con queso and some wine for supper, a version of  “a loaf of bread, a jug of wine, and thou singing beside me in the wilderness”.  We left out the literal singing.

Our Thanksgiving Celebration

We gathered together to celebrate our many blessings.  First among them is happiness to be together with those children who were able to come, friends, and their children.   We harvested our own plantains, and made plantain bread, which we did not manage to serve on this occasion.

The nineteen pound turkey helped provide two festive meals, and leftovers for other servings.  We should be thankful for whatever we have every day,  partly because it is so hard on the earth to provide it.
