We are the fortunate recipients of new ornaments for our old tree, again this year!
From our preschool granddaughter, a new snowflake on our tree. The pride with which she gave it was palpable, as she watched to see our pleasure upon receiving her work!
Brought by the daughter of our friends and relatives is this very nice glass ornament, reminiscent of the “room sugar’ used in Hungary on the tree. The “room sugars”, surely still used there, are various kinds of fondant candy wrapped in two layers of paper. Little boys have been known to eat the candy out and leave the empty wrapper deceptively on the Christmas tree.
The little wooden ornament in the background is one my parents brought from Mexico decades ago.
