Crochet Rate Base On Two, Fifteen Minute Samples, Is 900 Stitches Per Hour

DSC07449 These motifs contain close to the same number of stitches.  The lacey flower, done in size 10 crochet cotton, contains about 230 stitches, and the double crochet coaster, done in kitchen weight cotton #4 yarn, contains about 225 stitches.   The first can be done in a little over a quarter of an hour, and the second in a little less than a quarter of an hour.    The reason that the second takes less time is that  the stitching is very repetitive.

My stitch counting scale is a chain equals one stitch, a single crochet equals two stitches, a double crochet equals 3 stitches, and a treble crochet equals four stitches.

This is  simply useful information in case I need to know how long it takes me to crochet something.  This does not include how long it takes to figure out a pattern.

I can crochet about 900 stitches per hour.
